Jaguar and Land Rover original equipment (OE) tyres

JLR-homologated tyres with LR, J and JLR sidewall markings - factory specification for your Range Rover or Jaguar.

Range Rover, Defender, Discovery and Jaguar F-Pace leave the factory fitted with tyres that the JLR group itself chose for that specific model. On the sidewall they carry an LR, J or JLR marking, which means the rubber compound, carcass, sidewall stiffness and tread are tuned specifically for this platform rather than simply matched to the size. Here we have brought together these original equipment tyres for heavy SUVs and Jaguar sports cars - for summer, winter and all seasons.

How to choose OE tyres for Jaguar and Land Rover

An original equipment tyre is the closest thing to how the car drove when it left the factory: the same handling, braking distance, quietness and fuel consumption the engineers intended. Developing a homologated tyre for a specific JLR model takes a long time - according to industry data, up to three years. The models below are exactly these tyres; we will briefly explain how to choose the right one.

  • Check the marking. LR is for Land Rover and Range Rover, J - Jaguar, while JLR is the group's shared approval. A tyre with LR is not automatically suited to another brand, so make sure the code matches your car.
  • Do not go below the factory ratings. A heavy SUV and towing a trailer demand a high load capacity. The load index (often XL) and speed rating must not be lower than those stated on the door pillar or in the service book.
  • Choose by season. OE tyres come in summer, winter and all-season versions. For winter in Latvia, only a version with the 3PMSF marking will do, and some of this segment's winter and all-season models carry it.
  • Road or off-road tread. An OE marking is not a tread type - it can appear on both a luxury road tyre and an all-terrain tyre. If you often drive off-road, choose a coarser tread, but expect slightly more noise on the motorway.
  • When OE is not needed. For everyday driving, the law does not require it. If you are after a cheaper option, a technically equivalent non-OE tyre in the correct size fits and is legal - it may just slightly change cabin noise and the ride feel.

If you are not sure about the size or index, tell us your car's model and year - we will help you find a tyre that matches both the marking and the suspension.

Frequently asked questions

LR denotes Land Rover and Range Rover models, J - Jaguar, while JLR is the group's shared approval. The marking means the tyre was developed and homologated specifically for this vehicle platform, not just matched to the size.
Technically any tyre in the correct size fits, but an LR tyre is tuned for Land Rover's suspension and offers no advantage on another brand's car. Other manufacturers have their own codes: the BMW star, Mercedes MO, Audi AO, Porsche N0.
The code is engraved on the tyre's sidewall next to the size and other markings. Look for the letter combination LR, J or JLR among the other sidewall markings.
Land Rover approves five brands for its tyres - Continental, Dunlop, Goodyear, Michelin and Pirelli. In our range, this segment's models come mainly from these manufacturers, but all-terrain tyres are also supplied by BFGoodrich.
These SUVs are heavy and powerful, and sometimes tow a trailer too, so the tyre has to withstand a heavy load. XL means a reinforced carcass that can handle it; many of this segment's models in our range have at least one XL size.
They are available in all versions, because the marking relates to homologation, not the season. For winter in Latvia, choose a tyre with the 3PMSF symbol; since 2024, tyres marked only with M+S no longer meet the winter requirement.
